The procedures;
Teeth Whitening
Bleaching is a one of the most prevalent methods to alter the tooth color discrepancies. It can be done in-office or home or both depending on the severity of discoloration of teeth. The results are achieved in a fairly short duration of time and there are no alterations done to the existing tooth structure. The procedure basically involves oxidation of the impurities (which cause discoloration of teeth) within the teeth, with a bleaching agent, hence helps achieve a brighter and whiter smile.
Bonding/Dental Composites:
Bonding is a cosmetic technique in which a tooth-colored composite is applied to a tooth, sculpted, hardened, and then polished. Dental bonding is ideal for minor dental problems such as fixing a broken or chipped tooth or closing small gaps between teeth. Direct composite bonding is used to recreate a smile in an additive manner, without needing to reduce the tooth structure as such.
Bonding can also be used to do a direct veneer on discoloured teeth. Since the procedure is done at the office, it is much more cost effective than porcelain veneers.
The process involves a high level of technique for a natural appearance, and hence it is best to work with an experienced set of hands.
Veneers (Indirect veneers)
This is one of the best ways to achieve a desired result in smile makeovers. It is an ideal procedure for closing gaps, altering tooth shape problems and reshaping them, treating discolorations, trouble shooting size discrepancies etc. Veneers are minimal to moderately invasive procedures which require little alteration of the natural tooth structures to give astounding results and achieving a near perfect smile. They are customized for every individual as per the needs.
Componeers (Composite Veneers)
These nano-composite based direct veneers are pre-fabricated shells which can be used to enhance the smile of a patient with minimal alterations of the natural tooth structure. The biggest advantage is that these are a single sitting procedure and economical as well.
Lumineers (Non-Preparation Veneers)
Lumineers or the so called “non-prep veneers” are one of the most non-invasive procedures. This veneer is a very thin porcelain shell attached to the tooth without any preparation. However, they are prefabricated and re-contouring is necessary prior to placing this type of veneers. Achieving an exact fit may sometimes be a challenge and their scope is limited to only minor modifications needed.
